Delinquent Mortgages Nearly Doubling in 2009?

I just read an article in the Wall Street Journal that is predicting the number of delinquent mortgages to nearly double by the end of 2009.  Nearly DOUBLE!  That would be the highest level of delinquent mortgages in about 16 years.  Not to mention that currently 1 in 9 houses are in some state of foreclosure and 1 in 5 houses transferring are selling through short sales!
