REI Clubs Build a Trail to Real Estate Investing Success

One of the most important things you can do to help grow your real estate investing business is networking. By building your centers of influence, you’ll meet people who are connected to others, and know a lot of people in many different professions. They are the ones who will be able to refer you to buyers for your properties. They will help drive traffic to you.

REI, or Real Estate Investment clubs are a great source of potential buyers, and should be part of your center of influence. Group members are just like you – they are looking to network for their own businesses, and are trying to buy, sell, wholesale or otherwise make money in the real estate industry. They may even be the buyer, private lender or real estate investor partner you’ve been looking for.

REI clubs are a great way to mine resources in your community – to find others who are in the same line of work as you. You can discover attorneys, mortgage brokers, landlords, and others doing short sales or rehabs. You’ll learn what people are doing differently from you. Most importantly, you’ll be working directly with your competition. Any leads that come in can be funneled to someone else, if they are not right for you.

In addition to finding buyers or investors, REI clubs are a great way to learn from others, find out what is available in your “sweet spot” and also expand your center of influence. When you join an REI club and start attending meetings, be sure to gather as many business cards as you can, and right away enter those names to your buyers list.
