The Awesome Life of a Real Estate Investor

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 | Uncategorized

Can you answer this question: Why are you a real estate investor? Why did you choose this path in life? Some days it’s easy to get caught up in the details and forget what got you motivated to run your own business in the first place. If you take a step back every once in a while, you’ll quickly remember the reasons that make your choice the most awesome!

  • Money – This might be the most obvious. Selling real estate has long been regarded as a great way to make a lot of money, even in a tough economy. Do you still believe that to be true? Do you know how to capitalize on the situations and challenges presented to you? Are you structuring your business so that you’re building a system that can generate continuous income?
  • Lifestyle – Being a successful real estate investor can lead you to the kind of life you’ve always dreamed of – being able to afford the things you want, spending time with your family, doing the things that make you happy.
  • Independence – You relish being in charge of your own destiny. You no longer want to work for someone else, have your ideas ignored and achievements unrecognized. You want to set your own schedule and pace, and have the drive to make it happen.
  • Legacy – You want to help other people and leave your mark on the world. As a real estate investor you can help people out of difficult financial situations. You have the tools and resources to offer solutions and provide relief, whether through a short sale, probate or wholesale. You’re giving people an opportunity, while satisfying your own goals.
  • Achievement – Setting goals for yourself and reaching those goals will give you a tremendous sense of accomplishment. It also boosts your confidence when it comes to identifying the next set of goals. With real estate investing, once you close your first transaction, you are poised to tackle your next one, then your next five, and so on. There are no limits.
  • Building your Network – One of the most important factors to achieving awesomeness is having a solid support network. Having people who can help you achieve your goals can mean the difference between success and frustration. Join your local REI club, meet with brokers and realtors, talk with other investors, and call your SREC coach. Don’t forget the important role your family and friends play in the overall equation.

Becoming a successful real estate investor doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t come without a lot of hard work and dedication. But the rewards can be plentiful if you’re willing to learn, listen, work hard and stay committed. We have the resources to help. I,ve e-mailed the following request to a number of Real Estate teachers and or system sellers and or coaches without a reply. Maybe youo can help.I truly believe I may be missing the boat, however, I do not know what to do.I have short saled a number of properties last year, seven of them. That was all right at that time. However, I now would like to gear up and hopefully greatly increase my production.I am due to close on my next property 3/26/10. I have nothing else in my pipe line. Since being made aware of the HAFA program I,ve been afraid to go after any other business. How do I compete? Can you advise?

Peter:

Like any of the other changes in the short sale business, no one knows what to expect until the program rolls out on April 5th, and then plays out over the next several months. Learn everything you can about HAFA, and continue to pursue your business. We don’t see this as being a deal killer.
