June 3, 2014 Josh Cantwell (0) Middleburg Heights, OH - United States – June 3, 2014 - Strategic Real Estate Coach, an established leader in Real Estate Investment Training, today announced it is participating in and sponsoring PANCAN’s (Pancreatic Cancer Network) Purplestride Cleveland Walk Run 2014, which will be held June 21st at Voinovich Park. According to Strategic Real Estate Coach founder and pancreatic cancer survivor Josh Cantwell, the company is proud to sponsor the Purplestride Walk Run Cleveland 2014 because it helps change traditionally dismal survival statistics by funding research grants, advocacy efforts, patient support, and awareness activities coordinated by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. "Cancer plays no favorites. A lot of people don't get the second chance I got. I count it a blessing and a privilege to help support the PANCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network)," said Cantwell. "Will you help me in supporting patients and families with loves ones diagnosed with pancreatic cancer?" Care to Donate? During the ten-hour surgery, which has been widely publicized, Cantwell’s entire stomach, spleen, and gall bladder, as well as 75% of his pancreas and 25% of his liver were removed, along with a basketball-sized cancerous mass. His oncologist says 95% of all surgeons would not have even attempted a surgery of that magnitude. Statistics surrounding pancreatic cancer and its survival rates are historically dismal, including the following: An average of 121 people per day are newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, totally 44,000 new diagnoses per year. 73% of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within the first year of the diagnosis, and 94% die within the first five years. Pancreatic cancer is considered the most aggressive form of cancer; death within three months of diagnosis is not uncommon.
