It’s My Turn To Give Back… Won’t You Join Me?

I’m so excited and honored to be a part of an incredible event in about a month – the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s PurpleStride Cleveland. Taking place on Saturday, June 16 at the beautiful Cleveland MetroParks Zoo, PurpleStride is an event to raise awareness, support and funding for pancreatic cancer. This is one of the deadliest forms of cancer. This year, over 44,000 Americans will be diagnosed with the disease, and of those, only 7,000 are expected to survive.
At this year’s PurpleStride, I will be one of the featured speakers and will have the chance to share my story of survival with the thousands of attendees and participants. Last year, over 2,500 people attended, but there were only 14 survivors. The rest were there to support someone or to walk in their memory. I’m one of the lucky ones.
I’ve shared with you that today I’m healthy and 100% cancer free. I will continue to get regular screenings, but have returned to a normal, albeit busy, life. I couldn’t be more grateful for that.

Meet Our SREC Student of the Month, Peter Gorski

We’re proud to spotlight SREC Coaching Student of the Month, Peter Gorski. Peter joined our coaching program about two months ago, and has already been realizing some tremendous results! Peter attended our 2-day SummerFest high-end student mastermind event last week, and had a tremendous experience. As a gift for being chosen Student of the Month, Peter was invited to stay for two additional days of mastermind with the Maverick/Master’s Elite/Board of Advisors students.
Here’s what Peter had to say about his experience:
“I first wanted to say that I had one hell of a time at SummerFest. It was like no other event that I have been to before. It blew them all away. I was super excited to meet the SREC students, as well as your team, and I had no clue what to expect on Thursday going into the event. Everyone was so very nice to me and to the others, and that is very important to me because it makes me feel welcomed and part of your team vs. others. I’m no one to them but just a name on a list.
You put on one hell of an event and I’m looking forward to the next one. I have to make it to the top and
now, due to SREC, there is nothing holding me back.”

Rising Oil Prices Impacting Housing Recovery?

We’re all feeling the pinch of rising oil prices at the gas pump. We also know it’s impacting business across the country in a variety of ways. But will the soaring costs impact the fragile recovery of the housing market too? Many predict the answer is yes.
“The prospect of a much more expensive commute is beginning to make suburbia look less appealing. As demand for such homes weakens, economists worry that growth in the real estate market — and the broader economic recovery — could be stopped in its tracks.
The oil price spike could hardly come at a worse time for the ailing housing market, which, along with high unemployment, continues to weigh heavily on the U.S. economy. While financial and manufacturing sectors have recently shown strong signs of recovery, housing seems to get worse.
This situation isn’t helped by a lack of demand. For homeowners, the price fall can be a vicious cycle: Falling home values erode homeowners’ wealth, making them more vulnerable to default and foreclosure, which in turn tends to drive nearby home values even lower. As potential buyers see prices fall, they become less interested in making a long-term investment in a home. Until prices hit bottom and a home turns from a sinkhole into a bargain, buyers are expected to show the kind of tentativeness that aggravates a slump.

Our economy sucks right now for a lot of people. It’s unfortunate but times have gotten tough for some really close friends of mine. Some friends are killing it but not everyone.
So here’s what I’m doing. I’m going to figure out all the current issues, challenges and problems that “REAL” real estate investors are facing right now. I’m talking about people who are on the “streets” actually doing it.
