Mark is a graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor’s of arts degree. While pursuing his undergraduate degree Mark got married to his wonderful wife Michelle. He was always involved in construction and art projects at school and during summer breaks. He became a teacher for two years and was working for Josh in the summers doing real estate projects. In the fall of 2005 Mark decided to quit his teaching job and become a full time real estate investor. From 2005 until 2009 he was involved in short sales and flipping between 1-3 homes a month, in 2008 / 2009 mark decided to buy properties with private money, improving and then selling them.
From, 2009 – 2011 Mark worked on buying and selling foreclosure properties. Then in 2011, Mark and Josh decided to create a formal business relationship where Josh took care of marketing, raising capital and systems and Mark would handle all the construction and purchasing of homes. Mark now has over 40 rehabs under his belt and currently he and Josh carry 12-15 single family, 40k flips, and renovation projects at any one time.
Mark focuses all of his time on standard operating procedures, scheduling, budgeting, finding homes, and interviewing, and hiring contractors. Mark limits his swinging of hammers, laying floors, roofing etc. and now focuses on being the foreman and general manager. His expertise is teaching student on how to find properties, budget repairs, accurately make offers based on repairs needed, find houses from VA, HUD, Fannie Mae, and many other avenues.
Mark now enjoys a fairly free lifestyle with his wife and their son where they reside in Northeast Ohio.
Kyle Garifo is a native of the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL in 1998 as well as participating in collegiate football and baseball. After graduation, he went on and earned his Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology where he then achieved the title of Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor after two years of supervised clinical work. He practiced individual, group, and family therapy full time until 2007 when he decided spending time with his young children was a top priority. So, he quit on a Thursday and closed on his first REO project the following Monday, rehabbing a project that ultimately took him seven months to buy and sell!
As a full time real estate investor since 2007, Kyle has created multiple companies including Sky Equity, LLC, a lending company for rehabbers in the Chicago area, Forty One Properties, LLC and Pin High Properties, LLC which are companies used to hold his portfolio of rental properties. AZ Home Solutions, LLC was also created to conduct a myriad of real estate transactions including back to back short sale closings, note buying, lease options, lead generation, and now, predominantly property rehabilitation. Kyle finds that his extensive experience listening and helping people as a clinical therapist reminds him what real estate is all about; creating winning situations for all parties to benefit from.
In the last six years, Kyle has been involved with over 250 real estate transactions. Kyle lives in Algonquin, IL with his wife and three kids.
Christopher Seder is a real estate investor who has grown up around the business his entire life. He is born and raised in rural Montana where he graduated from college with a Business Management degree from Montana State University-Billings. After graduating college in 2009 Christopher quickly realized that the job market was depressed and knew he was destined for something else. Christopher began working for his father’s real estate investing company where he worked as a handy man working on his father’s vast rental portfolio.
In late 2009 Christopher started his own real estate investing company Big Sky Property Solutions and has grown the company into Billings MT’s # 1 real estate investing company. Christopher Seder has a lot of experience in finding, structuring, and negotiating all types of real estate deals. In 2012 Christopher switched up his business and started focusing most of his effort on Finding and flipping VACANT houses. He has become one of the foremost experts on finding vacant houses and flipping them for profit.
Christopher Currently lives in Billings MT with his wife and their 2 dogs and continues to flip houses each and every month.
DK Kim is a SREC Maverick Mastermind Member, full time flipper, investor and real estate attorney in his market of Orlando, Florida. He comes from a varied background where he utilizes his banking, finance, legal and real estate skills. DK was one of the founding members of GulfShore Bank in Tampa. In addition, he serves as the Treasurer for his homeowners association.
DK is also a licensed Realtor and works with several private lenders and investors throughout Florida for residential and commercial real estate investments. He buys and bids on HUD properties in the ENTIRE state of Florida and has flipped over 50+ HUD Homes.
Darren Mancuso started investing in real estate in 1992 with a few rental properties. In 2006 he started flipping properties with a business partner. They flipped 25 house from ‘06 to ’10. In 2012 they started relief properties with Darren as the controlling member. They are on track to do 15 to 20 flips in this year alone.
Darren got his real Estate License in 2014. He’s had great success with selling these properties doing 2 flips a month and has sold the last 6 properties over the asking price in a week or less using our Property Launch formula.
He currently lives in Strongsville with Katie, his wife, and Claire, his daughter who is 1. He has an interest in getting involved in purchasing commercial property. In his spare time Darren enjoys boating and going to the lake.
Mike Gleba is the Chief Marketing Officer and oversees all marketing and sales initiatives at SREC. An internet entrepreneur since 7th grade, Mike has worked in or owned several online businesses and has spent his last 15 years in real estate related businesses. Mike lives with wife and two boys, and spends a lot of spare time playing guitar, reading, and going to concerts.
Jason Schlegel is the Chief Operations Officer for Strategic Real Estate Coach and Strategic Funding Management. Jason comes from a diverse background with a wide array of business acumen.
He attended The Ohio State University, and was also a sergeant in the Unites States Marine Corps. After serving his country four years he was an account specialist for one of the country’s largest plastic companies, Akro-Mils a subsidiary of Myers Tires Inc.
After a few years, Jason, was called upon by a business mogul who had just invested in the purchase of a small town in western Pennsylvania. Jason was quickly made, General Manager, of a $5 Million resort town that hosted a restaurant, winery, hotel, and several boutique Shoppe’s. Jason, not only grew the town to a well- traveled destination, he understood the many facets of business. He was responsible for budget proposals, P & L reviews, marketing, SOP’s, sales, and a multitude of other functions of business. After several years in the restaurant business and being called upon in consulting capacities for a number of small to several hundred million dollar facilities, Jason was introduced to Mr. Josh Cantwell.
He and Josh realized they complimented each other’s needs for continuing to grow Mr. Cantwell’s several business endeavors. He resides in Fairlawn, OH, with his wife, Kara, their daughter, Seona their two dogs, Tiberius and Maximus, and their cat, Piper.
Roberdo Flanders here. I hail from New York, am married to a New-York Brooklynite, and have two wonderful children. My family and I moved to Cleveland in 2007—though my heart will always stay with the Knicks and Yankees—in a pursuit to advance our education and careers in the accounting and legal fields, respectively, in a city like Cleveland where one could afford a decent education and way of life without susceptibility to foreclosure.
My responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer include all aspects of accounting including but not limited to payables, receivables, payroll, financial statements, human resource management and other projects as assigned from time to time. I have experience in working for both not-for-profit and for-profit based businesses and contribute such experiences to everyday tasks at Strategic Real Estate Coach without obfuscating my colleagues and peers. Notwithstanding “priceless” moments at the office (especially during tax season), working for Strategic Real Estate Coach has truly been a God-send, I love my S.R.E.C. family.
Todd Jones is the marketing manager at SREC and other Josh Cantwell companies. He is responsible for all aspects of promotional campaigns, including email marketing, contact management, and campaign performance reporting. Referred to as "Zoltar" by some of his fellow employees (lovingly of course), most days he can be heard saying "It's not a blast, it's a broadcast!"
Todd became an Internet addict way back in 1994 with the release of the Netscape 1 web browser. Since then, he has tirelessly studied and put into practice most aspects of Internet marketing for both marketing agencies and private companies. SREC provides him an avenue for continued professional growth.
Todd is a serial entrepreneur, so he prefers to study or work in his spare time. He feels there's always something to learn or do and put into practice somewhere within the business.
Joshua Mathe is the traffic manager at SREC. He is responsible to make sure the website sees a steady stream of valuable and actionable traffic while at the same time making sure all digital assets are being properly utilized to benefit the company.
Joshua has a history of Agency life where he lead his agency’s digital optimization team. He has worked with everything from fortune 500 companies to mom and pop companies to enhance and build their online presence while driving conversions and valuable users. He has marketed in industries ranging from military to printing to baby products and has a love of all things digital.
In his spare time Joshua loves yelling about the Cleveland Browns, shooting, writing books, biking, lifting, working in his yard, playing corn hole, taking photographs, playing with his two dogs, working on his house, and driving wherever his car will take him.
Danielle Hanula-Strickland is the Communications and Content Manager at SREC. She is responsible for writing fresh content for the website, blog, e-mails, social media, etc.
She grew up in Northeast Ohio, graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Strategic Communication and has spent time working for minor league baseball teams and a large communications agency.
Danielle resides in Tremont, Ohio with her husband Rob, their dog Henry and cat Theodore. She enjoys all things Cleveland – sporting events, local restaurants, live music, reading and writing. She also teaches boot camp classes at a local gym.
Dan Fradenburgh is the Director of Technology at SREC and Freeland Ventures.
He's passionate about his work, but even more passionate about being a family man living as an expat with a wife, son, and daughter in Taipei, Taiwan.
He studied Electrical Engineering at Queen's University at Kingston but was known in high school as a guitar teacher and selling his album and successful instructional guitar video online in the 90s.
Dan's path joined with SREC's after working for 1ShoppingCart and building his own successful web development group. Starting with SREC in early 2013, his work approach of, "In E-Commerce, there's always a way if you try hard enough" towards development, integrations, optimization, and architecture made it a no-brainer to negotiate for him to start working only for SREC. We haven't looked back as we fast tracked him from being one of many freelance techs used by SREC to where he is today.
Remy Gareau is the Audio / Video Manager for SREC. He is responsible for the production of Digital Media and coordinating the A/V and lighting for SREC Live Events, as well overseeing the A/V department.
He attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida and has over 12 years of experience in Film, Television, and Video Production.
Remy enjoys traveling with his wife, playing music in dive bars around Cleveland, and watching TV with his two dachshunds.
Pasquale Iacovone is the A/V Manager at SREC. He is responsible for deploying webinars and podcasts to SREC students.
Pasquale has a background in video production. He has worked with businesses and organizations of all sizes across the US. He has produced many television commercials, training videos, promotional videos, and wedding videos.
In his spare time, Pasquale enjoys fitness, watching movies, and spending time with his wife and dog.
Justin is the Graphic Designer at SREC.
Justin has over 15 years of graphic design and marketing experience. Justin has implemented his skill set and branding abilities in many different environments, working with everyone from small non-profits and startups, to giant corporations.
When not making all thing SREC look pretty, Justin is very involved in the Cleveland arts and music community. He is the program director for Brite Winter fest and books many area music festivals. Justin is married to his beautiful wife Allie with whom he has a son named Henry.
Sean is the Business Development Sales Manager for SREC supporting 40K Flips, Freedom Funding, Maverick Masterminds, Flip and Fund Summit’s and Immersion Events as well as upper level mentoring and coaching packages such as Masters Elite and VIP. He has funded many deals for our Certified members as a Private Investing Partner with Freeland Ventures.
Sean enjoys playing golf and fishing during his free time and is passionate about singing and writing songs on his guitar.
Paul is in the business development and sales department. Supports programs such as 40K Flips, Freedom Funding, Flip and Fund Summit.
Paul has over 25 years in successful sales, customer service, account management.
He spends most of his downtime with his family, which include his wife and 2 kids.
Also, is an avid Cleveland sports fan.
Usman Javaid started as a freelancer for SREC in 2013 and has been a vital part of our growth. Specializing in mobile-optimization, site development, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and server health, he is always willing to go the extra mile and has become a pillar for our company to rely on. He's highly motivated to research what's outside his comfort zone and do his part in the SREC 'dream team' of web developers.
He attained both a Bachelors of Commerce and a Masters in Industrial Management, and the rapid growth of e-commerce management and web development made it the obvious direction to point his career. We're lucky to have him.
Kurt Kaufman is the Operations Manager at SREC. He is responsible for running the day to day operations for various websites hosted by SREC and oversees the production of SREC’s Live Events. He was the Front of House Training Coordinator and Corporate Trainer for Buca di Beppo before being brought on to Josh’s team in early 2014. In his spare time Kurt enjoys playing music and is an avid runner.
Sheila Arthur and her husband of 25 years have been Clevelanders their whole lives. She has a 19 year old son and a dog named Oreo. Sheila has been with Strategic Real Estate Coaching for over 7 years. Started her career with SREC as a negotiator and worked her way up to Customer Service Director. She has always been in customer related jobs first as a Claims Manager, then as a Mortgage Loan Processor and now with Customer Service. Sheila is committed to helping others reach their real estate goals.
Jennifer Pennington is the Customer Service Rep and Accounting Assistant at SREC.
Jennifer grew up in the “Smallest City in the USA” Parker, PA. She resides there still today with her two children, Taylor and Mickey, and her longtime boyfriend Rob. She has been in the service industry since her first job in high school. She loves working with people and is always willing to go that extra mile to help someone in need. She is just starting her career at SREC, but looks forward to many happy years here.
Laurel McGraw has been with Freeland Lending since the start. She has over 17 years of experience in the field of real estate. The positions she has held include Loan Officer, Account Executive and now Customer Service with Freeland Lending. She has also successfully flipped a few properties with her husband and business partners.
Laurel enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 2 girls.

I am the General Manager for Freeland lending and am responsible for all of the day to day operations.
I was born in Cleveland Ohio but have lived all over the southern United States a real “warm weather” guy. I met my wife in Fort Lauderdale, FL and shortly after we were married we moved to Phoenix where we lived for 20 years before moving into to Cleveland to be near family. My wife and I are big sports fans we love all of our sports teams, going to concerts, trying new restaurants and just getting out and discovering new places in our great state to visit.
I have over 15 years in the real estate and lending industries and have performed virtually all of the functions necessary to buy or lend on a piece of real estate. In our business we only interact with our clients for a short period of time but we can really make a difference in their lives and that’s the part that keeps me going.
Ken Young is the Operations / Offering Manager at Freeland Lending. He is responsible for managing many of the day to day operations and forming the standard operating procedures, as well as overseeing the Freeland Fund offering transactions. He has been with the Freeland Ventures companies since February 2015. Previously he was an IT Financial Consultant for a major U.S. tire manufacturer for 15 years, and a Leasing Specialist for a global specialty Steel & Bearing manufacturer for two years.
Ken enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy of 37 years checking out wineries around Ohio, playing with his grandchildren, and hitting the links on occasion.
Mark Reker is the Transaction Coordinator at Freeland Lending. He joined Freeland in September 2015.
Prior to joining Freeland, Mark was employed at 2 corporate banking centers. Most of Mark’s career has been in the banking world, where he has worked in all areas of the lending process, including origination, closing and loss mitigation, in motor vehicle, marine and real estate lending.
In Mark’s current position, he is responsible for all facets of the loan intake process, qualifying loan requests, both based on borrower strength and deal viability, using numerous engines and disparate criteria. He also serves as the acting liaison for Freeland’s outside vendor operations.
In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with family and activities including some sports, amusement parks and domestic travel.
Ryan Berry joined Freeland Capital Management as Vice President responsible for Fund Management and Investor Relations. He has a diverse background in accounting, finance and real estate.
Ryan has been a student of Josh Cantwell (SREC) for many years and has applied many of his teachings into his own real estate ventures. So, the transition into Freeland will be virtually seamless.
Ryan has been married for almost 15 years and is the proud father of 2 amazing kids: a 12-year-old daughter (state champion gymnast) and 10-year-old son (video game aficionado). When he isn’t working or spending time with family, you can find him on the golf course in the summer or snowboarding in the winter.
Prior to joining Freeland, Ryan was a vice president for RBC Tax Credit Equity, LLC (RBC), a tax credit syndicator. He acted in various roles in his 12 years with RBC including Controller, Equity Sales, Fund Management, and Information Technology.
Before RBC, Ryan worked as a financial analyst in the corporate office of International Steel Group, Inc. (ISG) and was an auditor at the regional accounting firm of Hausser + Taylor, LLP.
Ryan graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Kent State University and earned his CPA thereafter. He is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Ohio Society of CPA’s.
Jan Cottingham is a Loan Closer at Freeland Lending. She coordinate closings and track our loans paying off.
She grew up in Cleveland Ohio. Lived in California for 17 years. Has a lifetime experience of working in the Real estate/mortgage industry.
Jan enjoys family and friends, the metro-parks in the Cleveland area, sporting events, and local restaurants.
Terri Cruz is a licensed Realtor and also licensed Life and Health agent. She is a former General Motors technician and Material driver where she retired from there after 10 years of service. She has been in the banking industry for seven years now, working her way to Agency Services where she was working with Commercial loans at KeyBank.
Terri Cruz started a Freeland Ventures in July, 2016 as a loan officer and was converted into a Servicing Manager.
Terri enjoys spending time with her family and watching her two boys Devon (15) and Cameron (12) play basketball, football, and baseball in in her free time.
Carrie Rego is the Controller for Freeland Ventures. With her analytic mind and attention to detail, she helps keep any financial details at her disposal in order. Carrie has worked in many different sectors in the accounting field and loves property and financial services accounting the most. Give her a $1 discrepancy and she will find it!
Carrie was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and loves all things Cleveland sports. She also loves trying new restaurants (and old favorites) and loves to travel. She lives in Seven Hills with her boyfriend, two dogs & two cats. In her free time, you will probably find her cheering for her Cleveland sports teams (win or lose), working out, playing corn hole, throwing darts, going to live music venues, playing with her dogs, and watching good movies.
